MATTER OF BALANCE:This is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Because many people experience a fear of falling, they often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. This program will help achieve and overcome that fear.The class is taught by staff from the York County Area Agency on Aging.DIABETES SELF-MANAGEMENT:  This program will discuss action planning, decision making, dealing with difficult emotions, healthy eating, exercise, communication skills, using your mind & more! Participants are 60+ living with type 2 diabetes or 60+ caregiver of someone living with type 2 diabetes.CHRONIC DISEASE SELF-MANAGEMENT PROGRAM - LOOKING BEYOND MY CONDITION:CDSMP was developed by Stanford University.  It's a self-management education workshop attended for people with a variety of chronic health conditions like arthritis, pain, hypertension, cancer and more.  It aims to build participants' confidence in managing their health by providing tools like healthy eating, stress management, dealing with difficult emotions, action planning and more.HEALTHY STEPS IN MOTION (HSIM) - This is a more exercise-focused fall prevention program.  It starts with a warm-up, followed by strength and balance exercises.  It ends with a cool-down stretch.  Resistance bands are introduced in session #3.  There are 3 levels of exercise to enable participants to continue HSIM for as long as they like.  Participants receive a guide with the exercises and resource information.  HSIM strives to reduce the risk of falling by building body strength, increasing flexibility and improving balance.

Shuffleboard has become a popular indoor activity and can be played by everyone! If you can push a broom, then you can play shuffleboard.

Basic handgun Training:This class will teach firearm ownership responsibility, facing an imminent threat (perpetrator), multiple shooting stances, shooting defensively, handgun action types, draw stroke from a concealed position, racking the slide, holsters, loading/unloading, grip, causes of firearm accidents, ammo storage and more.Attack, Prevent Being Victimized: This is a 3 hour course providing you with the skill-set and training to not be an easy target. The first step toward safeguarding your personal safety is making a pro-active decision to develop personal awareness before you need it.  The following topics and more will be covered: Criminal mentality                   Personal boundaries Levels of awareness                 Common places of attack Self-defense devices                Self-defense techniques Physical security                      Home, auto security SAFE:  is designed to heighten your awareness and provide the knowledge and skills to prevent you from being easily victimized.  Guardians are encouraged to participate with their teen, but the course may be taken individually.

GROUP EXERCISE DEMO NIGHT:  Get moving with Martz Fitness and join us for live demos featuring POUND, AMPD Fusion and BOUNCE.  There is no experience necessary for this.  This is a free event, but pre registration is required.ZUMBA GOLD:  is a modified Zumba class for active older adults that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity.  The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination.SILVER AND FIT:  is a low intensity, low impact workout designed for those with joint challenges.  Through the use of props such as weights and resistance bands, you will perform exercises to help increase joint flexibility, range of motion and build muscle strength.POUND: is a full body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates inspired movements. Using Ripstix (they are lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising) Pound transfers drumming into an effective way of working out.  Designed for all fitness levels, Pound provides the perfect atmosphere for letting lose, getting energized, toning up and rockin' out.AMPD FUSION:  is AMPD BUILD and AMPD KICKBOXING fused together into one class.  AMPD BUILD is interval and intensity training for all fitness levels.  AMPD BUILD will burn calories, increase fat loss and metabolic rate, improve Oxygen consumption and blood pressure and reduces blood sugar and heart rate.  AMPD KICKBOXING provides various kickboxing, boxing and mixed martial arts movements with great music to create a fun, full-body workout that anyone can do!AMPD BUILD: is an interval and intensity training for all fitness levels.  AMPD Build will burn calories, increase fat loss and metabolic rate, improve O2 consumption and blood pressure, reduce blood sugar and heart rate.

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.  Pickleball can be played by all ages.  It is easy to learn but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.Players must provide their own paddle. NOTE: There will be a $5 fee for the purchase of balls per person for the session.  This fee will be collected the first day of play.When registering please include cell #, home # and email address.

Bocce is a yard game that's played with eight weighted balls aimed at a smaller target ball, pallino.  If you can play horseshoes, you can play bocce. If you can toss a ball the size of a grapefruit, you can play this fun game!
 
5:30 PM - 9:15 PM    American Red Cross Classes - ARC Adult & Pediatric CPR, First Aid & AED
Take an American Red Cross Class and become certified in CPR or the Babysitter's Training.ARC BABYSITTER'S TRAINING - This American Red Cross class will provide youth who are planning to baby sit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. Learn about leadership, decision making, age group characteristics, safety on the job, including basic first aid and choking skills.  Use infant manikins to learn infant care skills.  Activities and skill sessions are used to reinforce the knowledge gained.ARC ADULT & PEDIATRIC CPR, FIRST AID & AED - BLENDED LEARNING - The American Red Cross 2021 Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED blended leartning course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants.  It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements.  This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (Accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the instructor -led skill skills session. Bocce is a yard game that's played with eight weighted balls aimed at a smaller target ball, pallino.  If you can play horseshoes, you can play bocce. If you can toss a ball the size of a grapefruit, you can play this fun game!

GROUP EXERCISE DEMO NIGHT:  Get moving with Martz Fitness and join us for live demos featuring POUND, AMPD Fusion and BOUNCE.  There is no experience necessary for this.  This is a free event, but pre registration is required.ZUMBA GOLD:  is a modified Zumba class for active older adults that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity.  The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination.SILVER AND FIT:  is a low intensity, low impact workout designed for those with joint challenges.  Through the use of props such as weights and resistance bands, you will perform exercises to help increase joint flexibility, range of motion and build muscle strength.POUND: is a full body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates inspired movements. Using Ripstix (they are lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising) Pound transfers drumming into an effective way of working out.  Designed for all fitness levels, Pound provides the perfect atmosphere for letting lose, getting energized, toning up and rockin' out.AMPD FUSION:  is AMPD BUILD and AMPD KICKBOXING fused together into one class.  AMPD BUILD is interval and intensity training for all fitness levels.  AMPD BUILD will burn calories, increase fat loss and metabolic rate, improve Oxygen consumption and blood pressure and reduces blood sugar and heart rate.  AMPD KICKBOXING provides various kickboxing, boxing and mixed martial arts movements with great music to create a fun, full-body workout that anyone can do!AMPD BUILD: is an interval and intensity training for all fitness levels.  AMPD Build will burn calories, increase fat loss and metabolic rate, improve O2 consumption and blood pressure, reduce blood sugar and heart rate.

8:00 AM - 4:00 PM    HAM RADIO CLASS - HAM Radio Class
Preparation and Test for FCC Amateur Radio Technician License.  Come with an open mind, pen and paper.  We discourage the use of iPhones, etc. in the class except for emergencies.  Please put on vibrate.  A simple calculator and a Windows PC are useful. Participants must attend both days, Saturday,  8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Sunday,  8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. FCC License Testing will be held on Sunday, 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. There may be a $15 FCC License Testing Fee.  This is determined by the testing team that is independent of the instructor.   For those only needing to register for Test Session on Sunday, please contact instructor at ralp.brandt@comcast.net The class may be cancelled if less than 5 students are registered. Determination to be made by April 26.
