1:00 PM - 2:00 PM    York County Area Agency On Aging Classes - Healthy Steps in Motion
CANCER:  THRIVING & SURVIVING PROGRAM:  This evidence-based program is designed to give participants the tools they need to build confidence in their abilities to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives. These tools will help participants deal with symptoms of cancer and treatment like fatigue, sleeplessness, shortness of breath, stress and emotional problems like depression, anger, fear and frustration. Tools include relaxation, managing pain, physical activity, healthy eating, planning, action planning, decision making and more. The program is for all cancer survivors, including those in active treatment. CHRONIC DISEASE SELF-MANAGEMENT PROGRAM: LOOKING BEYOND MY CONDITION:CDSMP was developed by Stanford University.  It's a self-management education workshop attended for people with a variety of chronic health conditions like arthritis, pain, hypertension, cancer and more.  It aims to build participants' confidence in managing their health by providing tools like healthy eating, stress management, dealing with difficult emotions, action planning and more.CHRONIC PAIN SELF MANAGEMENT: This is an evidence-based program designed to give participants tools to manage their pain and the difficult emotions that come with the disease. Topics include healthy eating, exercise, using your mind, communication skills, action planning, pace and planning, medications and more. DIABETES SELF-MANAGEMENT:  This program will discuss action planning, decision making, dealing with difficult emotions, healthy eating, exercise, communication skills, using your mind & more! Participants are 60+ living with type 2 diabetes or 60+ caregiver of someone living with type 2 diabetes.HEALTHY STEPS IN MOTION (HSIM): This is a more exercise-focused fall prevention program.  It starts with a warm-up, followed by strength and balance exercises.  It ends with a cool-down stretch.  Resistance bands are introduced in session #3.  There are 3 levels of exercise to enable participants to continue HSIM for as long as they like.  Participants receive a guide with the exercises and resource information.  HSIM strives to reduce the risk of falling by building body strength, increasing flexibility and improving balance.MATTER OF BALANCE:  This is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Because many people experience a fear of falling, they often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. This program will help achieve and overcome that fear.

COUNTRY LINE DANCE WORKSHOPS:  Get your boots and join us for  Country Line Dance Lessons with Dancin' with Brittanie.  Beginners:  Have two left feet? This is the class for you! Bocce is a yard game that's played with eight weighted balls aimed at a smaller target ball, pallino.  If you can play horseshoes, you can play bocce. If you can toss a ball the size of a grapefruit, you can play this fun game!

5:00 PM - 8:30 PM    Point Blank Defense Classes - Point Blank Defense Basic Handgun Training
Basic handgun Training:  this class will teach firearm ownership responsibility, facing an imminent threat (perpetrator), multiple shooting stances, shooting defensively, handgun action types, draw stroke from a concealed position, racking the slide, holsters, loading/unloading, grip, causes of firearm accidents, ammo storage and more.Attack, Prevent Being Victimized:  this is a 3 hour course providing you with the skill-set and training to not be an easy target. The first step toward safeguarding your personal safety is making a pro-active decision to develop personal awareness before you need it.  The following topics and more will be covered: Criminal mentality                   Personal boundaries Levels of awareness                 Common places of attack Self-defense devices                Self-defense techniques Physical security                      Home, auto security SAFE:  provides the skill-set to not be an easy target. The first step to personal safety is developing personal awareness. Topics include: real life scenarios, places of attacks, de-escalation tactics, reaction vs. reflex, road rage, child trafficking, self-awareness tests, home security, imminent threats, why me?/victimized, Self-defense devices, vehicle carjacking.

CANCER:  THRIVING & SURVIVING PROGRAM:  This evidence-based program is designed to give participants the tools they need to build confidence in their abilities to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives. These tools will help participants deal with symptoms of cancer and treatment like fatigue, sleeplessness, shortness of breath, stress and emotional problems like depression, anger, fear and frustration. Tools include relaxation, managing pain, physical activity, healthy eating, planning, action planning, decision making and more. The program is for all cancer survivors, including those in active treatment. CHRONIC DISEASE SELF-MANAGEMENT PROGRAM: LOOKING BEYOND MY CONDITION:CDSMP was developed by Stanford University.  It's a self-management education workshop attended for people with a variety of chronic health conditions like arthritis, pain, hypertension, cancer and more.  It aims to build participants' confidence in managing their health by providing tools like healthy eating, stress management, dealing with difficult emotions, action planning and more.CHRONIC PAIN SELF MANAGEMENT: This is an evidence-based program designed to give participants tools to manage their pain and the difficult emotions that come with the disease. Topics include healthy eating, exercise, using your mind, communication skills, action planning, pace and planning, medications and more. DIABETES SELF-MANAGEMENT:  This program will discuss action planning, decision making, dealing with difficult emotions, healthy eating, exercise, communication skills, using your mind & more! Participants are 60+ living with type 2 diabetes or 60+ caregiver of someone living with type 2 diabetes.HEALTHY STEPS IN MOTION (HSIM): This is a more exercise-focused fall prevention program.  It starts with a warm-up, followed by strength and balance exercises.  It ends with a cool-down stretch.  Resistance bands are introduced in session #3.  There are 3 levels of exercise to enable participants to continue HSIM for as long as they like.  Participants receive a guide with the exercises and resource information.  HSIM strives to reduce the risk of falling by building body strength, increasing flexibility and improving balance.MATTER OF BALANCE:  This is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Because many people experience a fear of falling, they often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. Topics include healthy eating, exercise, using your mind, communication skills, action planning, pace and planning, medications and more. DIABETES SELF-MANAGEMENT:  This program will discuss action planning, decision making, dealing with difficult emotions, healthy eating, exercise, communication skills, using your mind & more! Participants are 60+ living with type 2 diabetes or 60+ caregiver of someone living with type 2 diabetes.HEALTHY STEPS IN MOTION (HSIM): This is a more exercise-focused fall prevention program.  It starts with a warm-up, followed by strength and balance exercises.  It ends with a cool-down stretch.  Resistance bands are introduced in session #3.  There are 3 levels of exercise to enable participants to continue HSIM for as long as they like.  Participants receive a guide with the exercises and resource information.  HSIM strives to reduce the risk of falling by building body strength, increasing flexibility and improving balance.MATTER OF BALANCE:  This is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Because many people experience a fear of falling, they often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. This program will help achieve and overcome that fear.

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.  Pickleball can be played by all ages.  It is easy to learn but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.Intro to Pickleball:  Have you heard about pickleball and been wondering what the craze is all about?  Join us for two lessons and an intro to the fastest growing sport.  If you have a paddle, please bring it along.Beginner Pickleball:  We will begin each night with a lesson/skills and then end with game play.  If you have a paddle, please bring it along.Pickleball Monday to Friday:  Players must provide their own paddle. This is for players with at least one year of experience. NOTE: There will be a $5 fee for the purchase of balls per person for the session.  This fee will be collected the first day of play.

CANCER:  THRIVING & SURVIVING PROGRAM:  This evidence-based program is designed to give participants the tools they need to build confidence in their abilities to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives. These tools will help participants deal with symptoms of cancer and treatment like fatigue, sleeplessness, shortness of breath, stress and emotional problems like depression, anger, fear and frustration. Tools include relaxation, managing pain, physical activity, healthy eating, planning, action planning, decision making and more. The program is for all cancer survivors, including those in active treatment. CHRONIC DISEASE SELF-MANAGEMENT PROGRAM: LOOKING BEYOND MY CONDITION:CDSMP was developed by Stanford University.  It's a self-management education workshop attended for people with a variety of chronic health conditions like arthritis, pain, hypertension, cancer and more.  It aims to build participants' confidence in managing their health by providing tools like healthy eating, stress management, dealing with difficult emotions, action planning and more.CHRONIC PAIN SELF MANAGEMENT: This is an evidence-based program designed to give participants tools to manage their pain and the difficult emotions that come with the disease. Bocce is a yard game that's played with eight weighted balls aimed at a smaller target ball, pallino.  If you can play horseshoes, you can play bocce. If you can toss a ball the size of a grapefruit, you can play this fun game!
